If you ordered a copy of It Actually Makes Sense: Astronomy of Srimad Bhagavatam prior to this weekend you might have a collector’s edition.
If your book cover has orange in it, its a collector’s edition. There are two versions with the orange cover, as far as I recall. If your Proof 2 is about Bhū’s total area, you have “Collector’s Edition 1”. Otherwise, it’s “Collector’s Edition 2”
If your book cover doesn’t have orange, but uses two yojana lengths in proofs 10-12 (a “conformant / spherical yojana” of 17.2 km, and a “variant / linear yojana” of 14.2), you have “Collector’s Edition 3.”
If you have neither of the above, but you do have a table of calculations for Proof 7, you have “Collector’s Edition 4.”
If you have none of the above, you have the standard version: Edition 1.
The changes, as far as I remember…
CE 2 – Added the proof for sizes of core, mantle, crust as Proof 2. (merged the proof for Bhū’s total area into Proof 1).
CE 3 – Improved the readability of the diagrams. Improved the aesthetics of the cover.
CE 4 – Calculated the varsha areas, rather than approximating them as trapezoids, resulting in having a single yojana value work perfectly for all proofs.
Edition 1 – Moved discussion of Meru’s x-axis from a footnote to the main text. Minor corrections on some diagrams. Fixed Proof 7 to reflect the corrected perceptual ratio and yojana length, removed its unnecessary table of calculations.
