Horoscopic astrology is a universal thing. The dichotomy between “Vedic” and “Western” is a false one, based mostly on the fact that the majority of people doing “Vedic” astrology use a sidereal zodiac system, while the majority of people doing “Western” use a tropical system. “Vedic or Western?” would be better phrased as “classic or post-modern?” What people tend to call “Vedic” astrology is really identical to classical horoscopic astrology from any part of the world.
